Spend enough time as a participating member in the food chain o’ life and you will find plenty of reasons to keep your eyes on the ground and your business to yourself.
In other words, if no one knows you and no one sees you, no one can eat you.
But that kind of life can also get lonely.
Sure, you’re alive, which is always a good thing. But, still, you’re all by yourself.
After so many years spent looking down, it can take a whole lot of brave to do anything differently.
Looking up isn’t just looking up.
It is taking your life into your claws.
Gulp.
This isn’t something you want to rush. But it isn’t something you want to put off forever, either.
So finally, one day, you just do it. You wake up and you feel it. Today is the day.
You pop your head out of your (adorable, curved, olive-colored) shell and turn your eyes towards the sky.
And then you see her. Staring right back at you. With so much love in her eyes.
