As spring swings into full gear, things start to get competitive.

At least if you happen to be in the egg-making frame of mind.

After the long winter’s sleep, everyone is well rested (perhaps a little too well rested).

Sure, you look very cute. You’ve checked and double checked and triple checked and all signs are go in the cuteness department.

Still, lady box turtles can be choosy.

It isn’t just about who has the brightest cheek patches or the curviest shell.

To really make an impression, there is only one thing for it.

You have to make an entrance.

To do this, you want to choose a backdrop where most of you blends in.

Tuck yourself into the scenery. And wait. (And wait. And WAIT.)

Then, right when the lady box turtle of your dreams appears, you make your entrance and sweep her off her feet.

Picking a you-colored backdrop guarantees your (many) best features will really pop when you step out to greet the lady of your dreams.
