Life can be very hard at times. Oh so very hard.
But then there are those pivotal moments in every being’s life that make all the hardships and scary-ness (a technical term) and challenges worth it.
Like the moment when that huge snarfling predator stomps right past you (because you are such an excellent hider).
Or the moment when you first emerge from your winter hibernation at the very same moment breakfast (a plump spring earthworm) decides to wriggle by.
And how about that moment when, instead of being flattened into an olive-colored box turtle road pancake, you are rescued and then you find your forever home.
Suddenly, as some beings might say, after so many ups and downs, so many hold-your-breath moments, so much hunger and loneliness and fear, you find yourself sitting pretty.
Or – even better – sitting cute.
