As a box turtle, getting rescued has its perks.

Three hots and a cot is just the start of it. You also get love and adoration, plus your own blog with hordes of slavishly devoted large shell-less fans who want nothing more than to start their day learning more about yours.

But there is one drawback.

You don’t get out much.

So when it is lady turtle season (and when isn’t it, when you look this good), you really want to bring it. The backdrop, the setting, the scenery – all has to be just-so to win the single lady turtle’s heart.

A single, solo, suave box turtle “sets the mood” with a romantic bower of ferns.

Once the ambience is just right, you need to strike that perfect balance to show off your stuff without being too subtle (never an option) or too overt (always an option).

By showing just a splash of orange cheek patches – neither too much nor too little – you give a glimpse of what cute eggs you will make together.

What do you think? Did Bruce pull it off?

  1. Sorry I had to get up off the floor after swooning again. Oh yes Bruce, you brought it alright. No one, shelled or shell less could resist your debonnair-ness. Excuse me I have to get an ice pack…..

    1. It is an undeniable hazard, that’s for sure! Bruce wants to send you more “cuteness” to help you feel better but I had to stop him for safety reasons;)
