Different beings can look very different and also act very different.
Some beings, for instance, might be excellent at sitting still. They are so good at sitting still you don’t even know they are a being and not a rock unless someone tells you otherwise.
(The “redfoot tortoise” is a great example of this type of being.)
Other beings may be particularly good at moving about. They are athletic, acrobatic, flexible – never met a structure they couldn’t climb up or dig under or circumnavigate around if the mood strikes.
(The “box turtle” is a great example of this type of being.)
Flock members who are not naturally athletic – such as the large shell-less being who takes care of you – can be easily impressed by your acrobatic skills. And this can work to your advantage.
Perhaps your assistant places you in a carrier en route to the dreaded V.E.T.. You already know you don’t want to go there for reasons too numerous and detailed to go into here.

Or maybe it is a lovely wet, humid day out – just the kind your assistant hates most – and you want to come OUT of your turtle enclosure already and go run around and do some hunting in your enclosed backyard play area.

Or perhaps you think you see a lovely lady turtle on the lawn and you just know you are the right partner for her (even though she has red dots and your dots are orange) and you need to alert your assistant right away that you need to come OUT NOW….

That picture of Bruce’s first ride to the vet is still one of my absolute favorites. No matter what bad mood I might be in, that picture will always make me smile.
Aw! So glad! It’s one of my top favs too:)
What a strong and determined young man he is! I love it!
