Dinnertime in an interspecies flock can sure get interesting.
There is your small loud feathery brother, who seems intent on repopulating the forest floor with his evening rice….not to mention anything else flingable he can purloin from his mommy’s dinner plate.
Then there is your round and robust shelled sister who is always hungry and basically thinks everything is edible.
And then there is you, the sole picky eater in the bunch, and the only one willing to expend the energy to catch as well as ingest your own dinner.
To make matters even more, well, delicate, your large shell-less mama is primarily vegetarian. And she is in charge of grocery shopping.
But when she sees how your adorable red eyes light up and start to whirl at the sight of a plump and wriggling prey, how all of your senses go to Defcon 10 and you come alive as your dinner steadfastly squirms off in the opposite direction, she knows what she has to do.
After all, you are worth it.

Don’t like insects at all, but I must say that the second pic is lovely. Mealworm and all. Ok, just the turtle’s cute face.
😂
Haha – I hear you on that!!
