Some days you wake up and just know nothing will ever be the same again.
Maybe a sizable rock slams into your small round blue planet and suddenly you have to quickly relocate underground.
(On the plus side, when you finally do re-emerge, your huge slavering fanged neighbors appear to be no more. Whew.)
Or perhaps a microscopic speck with delusions of grandeur decides to crown itself King and head out to conquer everyone. And everything.
You decide it is not going to conquer you. After all, you’ve already survived the loss of your home territory and all the freedom that came with it.
Now THAT was devastating.
There was a long period when you were very scared, very lonely and very hungry.
But you never gave up.
Even though things seemed just – horrible – you just kept trying, just kept surviving.
Then one day you woke up and knew things were never going to be the same again.
But this time, instead of even more disaster, doom and devastation, you discovered hope, just where you least expected it and just when you needed it most.
You found a home. You found love. You found a family. You found out that you would never again be alone, afraid or achingly empty in your belly or in your heart.
And you learned that sometimes, after a very bad day, a very good day can follow.
