Shelled beings are very smart. Shelled beings who are born with red dots all over their feet, necks, head and tail are particularly intelligent.

If you happen to cohabitate with one of these small shelled geniuses, you might even get to see their smarts at work….for the right motivation, of course.

Here is an example. Let’s say you have a tasty strawberry. A redfoot tortoise ambles by. You present the strawberry and a small touch screen computer. Then this happens.

Or let’s say there is a flock-wide gathering scheduled. On the menu are some grapes, cantaloupe and blueberries – all of which you already know are delicious.

The flock’s tallest member shows up for brunch. Being a very smart shelled being, you have noticed this flock mate always gets served first.

So you oh-so-casually make your way over, positioning your cute red-dotted self just-so, slightly in front of your tall shell-less Grandpa and between him and the delicacies.

While everyone “oohs” and “aahs” over “cuteness,” you can get busy with the activity of the hour – snarfing.

A very smart red-dotted tortoise positions herself strategically for victuals sampling.
