The sight of a tortoise placidly plodding along evokes different thoughts in different folks.

In your large shell-less mama, for example, all you have to do is, well, you don’t even have to do anything and she instantly comes running with snacks and shell scratches.

That is called “the power of cuteness.”

But in other countries and cultures, it can be unwise to amble along anywhere out in the open, on account of how some folks might start instantly visualizing you on a bun with salad mix and a side of fries.

For this reason, you always want to go incognito when you nap. And you always want to appoint a lookout.

When you are small and appetizer-sized (on the inside of your shell, at least) it is smart to appoint a lookout before you commence to enjoying a restful nap.
