Being born with a hard brown shell on your back has its pros and its cons.
On the “pros” side, you have your handy “rock disguise” at the ready whenever you need it (or just want it, for that matter).
On the “cons” side, other beings often assume that because you are hard on the outside you are hard on the inside.
And nothing could be farther from the truth.
Developing a hard outer shell can certainly be an effective safety measure – and you can never have too many of those, especially these days!
But it is important to let your soft inner side be seen too, and learn to tell who can be trusted to treasure this less well-known part of you.
This is how you bring joy to yourself and to the world. The ones you trust get to give you happy head pats – and you get to happily enjoy them!
