When you are born wearing a (cute, curved, fashion-forward) shell on your back, other beings may automatically assume you are self-contained.
As a matter of fact, you are self-contained. At least in the sense that you can fit all of your self into your shell any time you want to.
And sure, you enjoy your own company. You like piloting your own ship, so to speak, setting your own schedule, organizing your day any way you please.
But sometimes it can be nice to have support, too.
After all, even the most independent of shelled beings sometimes appreciates having a shell scratch, a cozy cuddle, a hand-fed delicacy.
But when you are small and slow and low to the ground and appetizer-sized, you may not have the most friends or even acquaintances.
Luckily, you don’t need lots. You just need one. One being who really cares about you will always be enough.
