If you grew up reading the old fashioned hardcopy newspaper (or at least its comics section) like I did, then you probably still remember “Miss Manners”.
Miss Manners – Judith Martin – is an American institution. She is a model of appropriateness, propriety and poise.

I am sure Miss Manners would have plenty of advice upon seeing the table, er, manners of a certain small grey avian.
Pearl’s motto when dining is “dig in!” If you wait, somebody else might get it first.
Not only do you want to ensure you get all the best and crunchiest morsels, but you also don’t want to have to deal with others’ unauthorized and unhygienic slobber on your fine cuisine.
Over time, you learn that the best way to deal with this is to slobber on it right away yourself.

First, what is there not to love about combining Miss Manners and Pearl? One of my favorite ladies might say, “Feed the bird first, dear. It’s only polite.” Loved this post.
Haha! I agree Kathy! I think she might actually say that too! Love it π
I have her latest book, “Miss Manner’s Guide to Excruciatingly Correct Behavior”. It will take you three years to get through but no library should be without it! Besides, if Pearl won’t sleep you can read her a section…! (Sorry, Judith.)
Oh boy…that sounds like a real (um) sleeper! π
Reminds of my dogs, race to the finish!!
Haha – that is such a great observation Maisen! My folks’ dachshund, Morgan, does it too – inhale the food so it won’t get taken away! π
Must be a dog/bird thing!!
haha – must be Maisen! π
