The large featherless being here….

First, just a note to say a heartfelt “thank you!” to those of you who, due to the somewhat sporadic postings of late, have messaged us asking if Pearl is feeling okay.

Pearl is feeling WONDERFUL. 🙂

He is conducting daily rounds of “practice nesting,” eating waffles like a champ, and generally ruling the roost as only the Casa’s Head of Security can.

But he can’t seem to do anything about the erratic blogging pace.

This is because his large featherless blogging assistant has gone and gotten herself a wicked wrist injury. Sigh.

Exhibit A: "wrist injury." For the record, Pearl also objects to the unattractive black wrist stabilizer his assistant insists on wearing - a couture disaster if ever there was one.
Exhibit A: The alleged dominant-hand “wrist injury.” (For the record, Pearl also objects to the unattractive and bulky “velcro” black wrist stabilizer his assistant insists on wearing – a couture disaster if ever there was one.)

And while Pearl is still having a hard time figuring out why such a small part of his assistant’s anatomy should be interfering in such a big way with his blogging schedule, so far all attempts to provide proper motivation have failed.

(Even daily overdoses of “cuteness” and “featheriness” have registered no significant improvements!)

So be it.

Pearl waiting (im)patiently for his large featherless assistant to get back to work already.
Pearl – admiring cuteness while waiting (im)patiently for his large featherless assistant to heal.

In the interim, Pearl highly recommends his new BOOK. 🙂

There are lots of pictures of cute feathers in it (see below for proof).

There are also lots of stories about cute feathers.

The Tall Tree and the Small Chef are also prominently featured throughout.

For a day-by-day glimpse into the life of Pearl and his interspecies flock, you can’t do better than his personal memoir.

Plus, each copy sold keeps a certain feathery someone in waffles – a critical mass need that simply can’t be understated. 😉

Exhibit B: “Proof.” (there are even cute feathers right on the front cover!)

So that’s what’s up. And as soon as one of us heals and the other one stops shrieking with impatience, we will get back to actually posting daily on “Your Daily Pearl.”

But for now, we just wanted you – our treasured extended VIP flock family – to know.

With love (& lots of feathers),

Shannon & Pearl

  1. And here I thought the absence was due to the holidays followed by a book signing/breaking tour. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

  2. Get better soon, Shannon. Me, Cachi and flock will miss you , but we’ll be waiting patiently…LOL! As we understand these things take time to heal. Cachi, Chui, Perlita, Benji, Canelita & Kibou all send you beaky kisses. Oh, and Kibou wanted to make sure that I tell you he also sends you wing hugs, and that the next heart wings are for u! 💙💜
    We love you Pearl!!!

  3. Hey Shannon, I was wondering if I could post a picture of Pearl on my blog. I would like to do a fun separated at birth kind of post for my friends as they think it had hilarious Squeak has a twin. I would of course give you and Pearl full credit for all cuteness and featheryness.
    Thanks for your consideration. Julie
