Interspecies relationships can be complicated.

There are lots of reasons why.

One reason is the all-too-common tendency towards using labels.

“Cutest.” “Hungriest.” “Loudest.” “Fiercest.” “Snooziest.”

Sure, maybe you are the cutest flock member (this being self-evident, since you are also the only flock member who is covered in soft downy feathers).

But this doesn’t mean you can’t be the “hungriest” too.

Or the “loudest.”

Or the “fiercest.”

Or the “snooziest.”

Sometimes you just have to take a stand on these important matters so you can let all sides of yourself out to be admired and celebrated.

If you happen to be feeling peckish when you take a stand, you can use a “visual aid” to let your (large, featherless) flock mate know you are the clear frontrunner for “hungriest.”
