When you are born with a face (and a body, and wings, and a tail) that loves the limelight, it just makes sense that small rectangular flashing devices everywhere would want to be near you.

After all, there’s nothing more comforting than looking really cute.

When really tough stuff goes down on the small round blue and green planet you share with your large featherless assistant (and, unfortunately, your two shelled siblings), you may even decide to volunteer as the official “cuteness assistant” to uplift others.

Instead of sitting by yourself and waiting for a device to geolocate on your position, you can sit with one of your less photogenic flock mates and wait.

The device will capture an image of both of you, making you look reliably cute and your flock mate look, well, cute by association.

Like so.

When you sit with one of your less photogenic flock mates who has gotten a little (or a lot) worried about the state o’ the planet, there is one sure cure: cuteness by association.
