Being little and cute with soft fetching feathers means you can easily talk the large featherless beings out of prime dishes.
The harder part comes in keeping other (less easily duped) poachers away from the dish you just poached.
In this course, a master instructor gives an overview of the best advanced “dish guarding tactics” so you can keep your dinner and eat it too.
This tactic is called “The Vulture.” Hunch over, narrow your eyes to slits, slick back your crest feathers, bare your beak, and look very grumpy. This will send the poachers scurrying away. This tactic is called “The Lunge.” Open your beak slightly, lean forward, and stare intently, like you have suddenly realized how delicious the poachers look. Salivating a little can add extra “oomph.”This tactic is called “The Beakmaster.” Open your eyes wide and your beak wider, while leaning forward over the dish. The further you lean over, the more effective it will be.This tactic is called “The Call for Backup.” Look behind you while opening your beak and shrieking loudly. This will bring your large featherless assistant running. Her sheer size will send the poachers packing (they will never know you stole the dish from her in the first place!).Finally, this surefire tactic is called the “You Want Some of This?!” Load as much of the dish onto your beak as possible while glaring fiercely. When the poachers finish cowering in fear, they will quickly depart.

Yes, I definitely see how this works. You were very fierce and even if that didn’t work the cute food all over the beak always gets to me.
Yes, Jeanne, it can be quite difficult for Pearl to separate out his “cute” and “fierce” looks…..so what we often end up with is “cute-fierceness” or “fierce-cuteness”….. 😉
