When you are planning an extensive personal grooming session (which is ideal to maintain optimal prettiness), it is best to appoint another member of your flock to stand guard.

This way, they can watch for predators, leaving you free to focus on critical tasks like preening your feathers.

It is also good to choose a flock member who is tall, has a good range of vision, can sit still for hours, and loves you to distraction.

I feel good about this perch. The Tall Tree is one of my (many) slavish devotees, and he can sit in front of that large glowing thing for hours. Plus he has the special eyewear necessary for good range of vision.

I'll start the grooming session with my pretty pink feet.

Now I'll work my way back to my equally pretty grey and white wings. The Tall Tree is an excellent guard so I can take my time.

Once you are done grooming, it is time to be admired. Being so pretty, of course, you don’t have to look far to find another flock mate to take care of this for you.

The Small Tree loves to admire me. She also lets me plate surf off her dinner plate.
The Small Tree is excellent at “admiring.” I will just stand still so she can get the full effect.
