Neck feathers is an essential part of every day.

Every hour.

Every minute would be nice.

Part massage, part grooming, domestic parrots often rely on their parronts to do what a mate or avian family member would do for them in the wild.

As such, any domestic avian gets quite good at “helping” the resident large featherless being figure out how “neck feathers” should be performed.

As you can see.

Mom, I'd really like you to scratch my neck feathers now.

Yes, start with the ones in the back please.

Now the ones on the side....both sides.

Oh perfect, Mom - you're really getting the hang of it now!

  1. My favourite day in Pearls calendar so far!! Those shots are soo adorable, you can see just how much he loves being pampered!

    1. He sure does, Phyl – if it weren’t for neck feathers I’m not sure he would give me the time of day! 😉 (of course then there’s always waffles, mirrors, millet….)
