From time to time the large featherless being will go out for awhile.

When she returns, sometimes she is carrying bags.

Occasionally one of these bags contains a new addition to the household that appears to have…..feathers.

Although these new additions are nearly always impostors, only the most highly trained and discerning appraisers can tell the real from the fake.

I can’t put my finger on why just yet, but my keen “authenticity sensors” are telling me this is an imposter.
Yup. Looks like feathers alright. Has the wings, the beak, the claws....but I'm not buying it.
Yup. A good reproduction for sure, but even an appraiser-in-training could tell they got the colors all wrong – there’s no grey or white anywhere in these “feathers.”

I hate to tell you this, Mom, but this so-called “parrot” is clearly a fake.
