Pika did this tonight with my toast, and last night he tried to jump directly into my grilled cheese. He’s the poison tester, you see. And sometimes it takes two or three or ten nibbles to really know for sure whether or not the humans are eating tainted food. 😛
You are lucky to have such a conscientious tester as Pika! Of course grilled cheese must be put to particularly rigorous tests….on account of it being extra delicious.:)
