Establishing ownership can be a touchy subject.

Even if you are extremely cute (which obviously means you have feathers) sometimes the large featherless being can be surprisingly grumpy about giving your things back.

One of your things she has particular trouble letting go of is the silver flat rectangular glowing thing with the nice reflective mirror and tasty keys.

She seems to think that just because you allow her to use it (in service to her role as your assistant, of course) she actually owns the thing.

She also forgets who really owns it with surprising frequency.

So then you have to go through the whole process again of reminding her it is yours (complete with a game of actual Charades – it seems your assistant is more of a “visual learner.”)

Mom, I need it back now.
Mom, I need it back now.
Look, Mom - I'll give you a visual hint: the one who eats the keys owns the keys!

I'll try "cuteness" - that usually works....although today she seems pretty oblivious.

Yes, Mom, I need it back - the small thing with the delicious keys AND the larger silver thing with the mirror. When? Right now.

Okay, that's it - I'll have to really spell it out for her. I'll just sit on the things I own so she gets it.
