Once the “season o’ love” arrives, ladybirds become obsessed with virility.

Here, it may suddenly no longer be sufficient to have bold grey and white feathers.

Or a fetching and feathery crest. Or cute pink feet. Or a fabulous sharp, curved beak.

During these times, subtlety is not your friend.

Rather, often what it takes is to act out your virility right in front of her.

(Luckily, this is easy when you are a Golden Waffle award-winning actor!)
