Being small, round, feathery, and in high demand means you must maintain the highest of standards.

And since “you are what you eat,” those standards include your menu.

What this often entails is hiring an in-house chef.

If you happen to be grey and white and live with a large featherless being who cannot boil water, then this also means you must look elsewhere for a worthy assistant to fulfill this vital role.

On this most special of special days, Pearl would like to send his love to Chef Small Tree, whose sole flaw is a glaring failure to pass on even the merest shred of her culinary mastery to her offspring (aka the large featherless being, aka Mom).

Thanks to the Small Tree, your feathers remain glossy and photogenic.

Your large round black eyes glow with health.

Your beak, feet, and claws are deeply moisturized (due to continual immersion in that most delicious of Chef Small Tree’s many delicacies, the “waffle”).

Your fans keep coming back because of your sharp mind and fab personality, which of course just comes with the territory when you are so well fed….and so well cared for….and so very well loved.

Chef Small Tree loves to brainstorm with her charge about the best dishes for the sensitive avian palate.
Chef Small Tree loves to brainstorm with her grandbird about the best dishes for the sensitive avian palate.
Eating those dishes is also great fun, since Grandma always lets the one with the feathers choose his plate first.
Eating those dishes is also great fun, since a doting Grandma always lets her grandbird choose his plate first.
Only the best chefs are humble enough to allow others to make recipe suggestions.
Chef Small Tree always loves to hear menu suggestions from her talented grandbird (clearly the chef gene skips a generation).
Chefs that can appreciate rare prettiness are guaranteed lifelong employment!
And of course it is so much fun to dine with Grandma, who never lets the act of dining get in the way of admiring prettiness!

Pearl (and his Mommy) wish Chef Small Tree (aka Grandma, aka Mom) the happiest of birthdays!!
