Recently Mom brought home an unusually odd kind of being.
It is small (like you) but has no feathers (like Mom).
It is round (like you) but moves slowly and clumsily (like Mom).
It also doesn’t seem to have any concept of “prettiness” (which is probably for the best, since it unfortunately doesn’t appear to have any).
And – likely out of pure pity – now when Mom goes to the kitchen each morning to make your breakfast, sometimes she gets confused and starts to prepare the other being’s breakfast ahead of yours.

When this occurs, it is of paramount importance to remind her of who is in charge of whom (and whose breakfast most needs preparing).

Oh yes there is a definite hierarchy in the world of siblings. He who was always first shall remain always first! Unless, the youngest puts up a big fuss and then well maybe it’s ok.
Excellent point, Jeanne – and of our two, the one with the feathers is definitely more inclined to put up a big fuss (whether there is cause or not) 😉
