When you are a parrot mommy, you quickly learn that wonders never cease.
Ever.
Never ever ever.
For instance, let’s say your feathery angel has spent the first 11 years of his life as a bona fide seed-aholic (this is sort of like when a large featherless being is a Cheeto-aholic or a chocolate cake-aholic).
Then in year 11, in your official role as the official household Wellness Consultant, you finally decide to lay down the law and get serious about healthy. parrot. eating.
Perhaps at first (like for 11.5 straight months) your parrot isn’t pleased.
But then, slowly, surely, micro-inch by micro-inch, someone with wings and a curved beak gets a little more curious than stoic parrot principle can tolerate.
At first, it is just waffles. Pizza dough. Cheerios. And anything Mom is eating and specifically doesn’t want the one with the feathers to ingest.
But then….eggs. Banana. And….wonder of all wonders….APPLE.

Pearl sounds just like my Marco! Anything but healthy .. and weirdly now he is eating apples too. I love your pictorials of the adventures of Pearl .. he mirrors most of us who keep our precious cockatiels as pampered pets 🙂
