When you are a parrot mommy, you quickly learn that wonders never cease.

Ever.

Never ever ever.

For instance, let’s say your feathery angel has spent the first 11 years of his life as a bona fide seed-aholic (this is sort of like when a large featherless being is a Cheeto-aholic or a chocolate cake-aholic).

Then in year 11, in your official role as the official household Wellness Consultant, you finally decide to lay down the law and get serious about healthy. parrot. eating.

Perhaps at first (like for 11.5 straight months) your parrot isn’t pleased.

But then, slowly, surely, micro-inch by micro-inch, someone with wings and a curved beak gets a little more curious than stoic parrot principle can tolerate.

At first, it is just waffles. Pizza dough. Cheerios. And anything Mom is eating and specifically doesn’t want the one with the feathers to ingest.

But then….eggs. Banana. And….wonder of all wonders….APPLE.

Mom, what is this? It looks crunchy but it's not seed.

Well, shoot - I'll just test it out myself and see.

Wow. Crunchy AND fling able! Who knew?

I'll just try a couple more bites.

I think it's trying to escape - but I know how to fix that.

Yup. I would eat that again.
