Parrots and pirates have a long history together.

Most beings assume this is because the pirates kept the parrots as pets.

Not so much.

Rather, the parrots were able to use “prettiness” and “cuteness” to turn the deadly pirates into docile assistants who could help them carry their plunder.

The tradition still exists today, although today’s deadly duos often look somewhat different than the original pirate-parrot pairings.

This crinkly holding cell isn't bad either.
But there sure are a lot of items in here. I’d better get my large featherless assistant-pirate to carry them for me.
Oh there you are, Mom - right on time to help me carry this plunder.

I look very pretty and cute chomping on my plunder?
I can't argue with you there, Mom - tell you what. I'll just keep chomping cutely and looking very pretty while you start carrying the plunder, ok?
Well that is an important point you make, Mom. So how about this – I will just keep chomping while you start carrying….that way you can be inspired by “cuteness” and “prettiness” while you work!
