While technically your large featherless assistant is supposed to be in charge of “security,” it never hurts to check her work (plus, you are better at securing things than she is anyway).

For instance, let’s say you happen across a room packed with beings you haven’t met yet.

You will want to give them a thorough once-over before deciding whether to let them stay.

I don't recognize any of you. Prepare to have your identities checked!

You look suspicious. I've got my eye on you.

Mom, can you vouch for any of these beings or should I check them all?

This being looks very suspicious to me.

Mom, I think we have a U.F.O. living in our closet.

Luckily it's very friendly and shiny so I issued it a "visitors pass."

  1. You’re braver than I am. I keep my parrots out of the closet so they don’t poop on the clean clothes. We had an incident once in the laundry room which involved a lot if re-washing! Good to see Pearl outside the kitchen!

    1. Haha – good point, KDKH! Pearl does love the kitchen! πŸ™‚ Perhaps my bravery comes from the fact that I am dealing with “parrot” instead of “parrotS” – I think you may be wiser than I there! πŸ™‚

  2. I used to allow my birdies in my closet and dresser drawers. Then one day one was sick… I rushed him to the vet, who told me he had ingested a tiny leaded crystal that most likely came from one of my blingy pieces of clothing. After nearly dying and $2,500 later, he is ok, but will NEVER be allowed near my clothing again! So please be careful πŸ™‚

    1. Oh my goodness, Eva – I thank you for the warning! I’m so glad your little love came through his ordeal and is healthy again! I am sure all feather lovers will take your words to heart.
