Being the official “greeter” for a whole flock is a task only the friendliest of beings can handle.

You have to be so outgoing and social you can walk right up to a total stranger and see a new friend-in-the-making.

For this reason (and also due to overall cuteness and prettiness) beings with feathers are typically an excellent fit for “greeter” roles within a flock.

Well hi there! You are round like me - you have two colors like me - you must be a new friend! — Well hi there! You are round like me – you have two colors like me – you are about the same height as me – you must be a new friend!

I offer you the official "greetings bow" for our flock. — As official “greeter” for our flock, I bow in respect and bid you welcome.

You know, we're even about the same height! — Your name is “China?” How lovely! My name is “Pearl” – I’m a very pretty grey and white parrot.

Do you do greeting "beak grabs" in your culture? — Do you do “beak grab greetings” in your culture?

Oh good - that is my favorite way to greet too! — Oh good – that is my favorite way to greet too!

I can just tell we're going to be the bestest friends! — I can just tell we’re going to be best friends!
