When you were born into a feathery flock of little bullies (who bit off the end of your left wing when you were a chick), flying is a rare thing indeed.
Mostly it happens just when you least expect it.
Something startles you, you screech for your mommy, and you launch.
Suddenly, you find yourself sailing along in gorgeous, seamless flight.
Oddly, often right after this occurs, you get dragged across town for a temporary incarceration.
Your jailer typically wears a long drab-colored coat and seems unhealthily interested in the length of your nails, feathers, and beak.
(…as a side note, you feel like if that individual paid more attention to their own personal appearance and grooming, they might not feel such a need to scrutinize yours!)
