While it can be great to dig into a starring role in a big budget Hollywood thriller, the best actors often like to challenge themselves to bring their acting A-game under sparser circumstances.

In fact, a truly gifted actor can create a whole theatrical piece with little more than themselves and a stage prop or two.

On that note, Golden Waffle award-winning actor Pearl Cutts is proud to present his newest one-avian, one-act play, entitled:

“It’s in the Bag”

(When the star first appears on stage, the atmosphere is tense and still. A single suspicious-looking bag is lying at stage center. From off stage, a monotone voice issues a series of questions, each of which the star impatiently answers.)

Yes, I understand the risks. Yes, I know it is urgent. Yes, I'm on it.

Well, well, well. What have we here? I do believe it is my old arch enemy counter-spy, Mr. Millet.
Well, well, well. What have we here? I do believe it is my old arch enemy, Mr. Millet. (Here, the audience maintains an anxious silence.)
Back! Get back! The suspect is armed and flingable! (all hissed to the sound of rapidly retreating claw steps)...

Now where were we? Oh yes, the "pat down."
Now where were we? Oh yes, the “pat down.”
Well, it would seem I got the jump on Mr. Millet and he is paralyzed with fear. Might as well have a little snack before hauling him off for questioning....

(The audience breaks out into spontaneous cheering and applause. From the stage, the only sound that can be heard is continuous crunching).

The End.
