I (heart) banana flavored Laffy Taffy.
In so doing, I am very much aware that the nutritional value reading here tends towards zero and far on past into the realm of toxic.
I also know that “banana flavored” has nothing to do with anything that might bear the color, shape, or flavor of an actual banana.
It is also worth mentioning that I do not like the strawberry or apple flavors. They taste like no apple or strawberry I’ve ever met. I may even be nutritionally allergic to them.
But when it comes to banana Laffy Taffy, I am a slavish devotee.
I once stood in line at an out-of-the-way boutique pharmacy, so entranced by the ginormous clear square tupperware full of nothing but the rare banana-flavored treats that I didn’t even bat an eyelash at the price of whatever ineffective prescription I was there to pick up.
I considered it an investment – and totally worth it to score such a find. I chomped and chewed happily all the way home. 🙂
More recently, a certain feathered someone discovered what was left of my stash. While Pearl’s enthusiasm level was clearly equal to mine, it was soon clarified that her reasons were rather different.
As it turns out, Laffy Taffy wrappers are to cockatiels what Laffy Taffy is to me.
And wrapped Laffy Taffy makes a fine “boom” sound when it hits the counter tiles.
Since here at Casa Feathers n’ Beak, our motto is “whatever works”, this arrangement works fine by us: Pearl opens, and I eat.
