This week’s question comes from a VIP fan:

Dear Pearl,

You’ve repeatedly mentioned that “grey and white” is the best color combination. But what about all the other color combinations – what makes grey and white the best one?

Signed,

Mom to a yellow and white ladybird

GreenHeart

Dear Ladybird Mom,

So first I want to clarify – I am only speaking about male birds when I say grey and white is the best color combination for feathers.

Ladybirds can be any color combination they want and they will still look fabulous.

You can let your ladybird know that.

By the way, is she single?

With love (& feathers),

Pearl

….as dictated to his large featherless press secretary
