Happy days happen to all of us.
So do less-happy days.
And here is where being born covered in soft and fetching aerodynamic feathers really comes in handy!
Because once you figure out what those two attractive and graceful appendages on either side of your adorable round body are there for, you can use them.
And rise above it.
Maybe one day is a very good day. It is full of all of your favorite things.
Eligible single lady cockatiels are chirping in your direction all day long. The waffles flow freely. Your large featherless assistant manages to get through your photo shoot without fainting from “cuteness overload” yet again.
But then the next day comes.
You know you look your feathery best but not a single ladybird seems to notice. Your waitress brings “avian probiotic” when you clearly ordered “Chef Grandma’s special rice.” Your small shelled sister won’t leave you alone.
It is okay. You know what to do. You remember all your favorite things from the day just passed. And these remembrances make you so happy you feel like flapping both your outer wings and your inner wings (the even softer featherier ones inside your heart).
Before you know it, you are feeling happy again – just like that!

Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo. It must be hard to feed and raise a baby bird like this.
Pearl has been with me since he was a five week old chick! 🥰
