Being an ambassador animal for your whole species takes a lot of hard work.
Well, mostly it takes a lot of “cuteness,” but still.
When you’ve got it, you’ve got to share it, and that means bringing your “A” game (or your “B” game if you happen to be Bruce) to each and every photo shoot, video, blog post and film series.
You know that each new extended flock member who falls in love with you will care more about all the other feathered and shelled (and furred and finned and scaled) beings as well.
So you want to give each public appearance your utmost. Show your whole heart.
You want all the cockatiels and box turtles and redfoot tortoises all around the world to know that you’ve got their back.
Not surprisingly, this takes energy. Effort. Time. Planning and preparation.
Ideally, as a full-time ambassador animal to your species, each one of you would have your own dedicated large featherless assistant (or large shell-less assistant, as the case may be).
But when all three of you have to share an assistant, you make it work.
Because….that’s just who you are.
And because all the other parrots and turtles and tortoises need more beings who care about them and will help pass the message along that these species (and so many others) need our help to survive and thrive.
