Here at Casa Feathers n Beak, reading is a flock-wide tradition.
While some of us like to focus on the words on the page, while others of us prefer to focus on the crispiness of those pages, it is safe to say no book entering this household lacks for attention.
So Pearl thought it would be a great idea to combine his literary knowledge with his mommy’s typing skills to share more about books we both love – just in time for your weekend reading list!
This week, the book is “Search for the Golden Moon Bear“ by Sy Montgomery.
Pearl’s review: While I know how much my mommy likes this author, to my mind, it is awfully hard to figure out how her books ever got to be so popular with such un-enticing cover art. Hopefully the author will see this and realize what a difference a professional cover model (with feathers) can make. In the meantime, if you are wondering what great cover art looks like, I highly recommend you check out this great book!
His mommy’s review: I have to admit, Sy Montgomery has me hooked. She gets up close and personal with her subjects, even thought often the celebrities she is writing about often have ferocious jaws and fangs and enjoy playing “hard to find.” But sometimes it is also heart-wrenchingly difficult to read about the animals Sy studies, because their stories are SO sad and homo sapiens always seem to be at the root of the sadness. It is something to keep in mind if you decide to pick up one of her books (or any book about animals by a compassionate and conservation-minded writer/researcher, for that matter).
With love (& feathers),
