Today’s gratefuls are about things that make me happy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happiness is….

A warm bird (if that warm bird has typing and editing skills, even better).

Someone small with grey feathers admiring a small feathery grey reflection in the glow of my MacBook Pro.

A summer rainstorm rolling in on the heels of a dark Houston sky.

Coffee in a “to go” cup (even if it is “for here”).

Coffee cup and avian facing off for yet another round of “who does Mommy love more?”

Helpful friends who know how to use Photoshop. (Thanks, Jonathan ;-))

The iPhone camera. Which gives me picture-perfect pics like this one:

The Olympic plate-surfing champion shows “the Fam” how it’s done with Mom’s homemade eggs benedict.

This lovely meditation I’ve been doing in the mornings. It goes like this:

Visualize a steady flame. Make a wish. Imagine your wish dancing with happiness, illumined by the light of love. Offer your wish to the Universe (God, the divine, whatever you resonate with) on behalf of all humanity. Receive the gift of gratitude.

Speaking of flames…..

Candles. When it comes to candles, I have a bit of a shopping problem.ย  This is the newest addition to my collection:

“The Market” doesn’t even begin to describe this candle’s intoxicating scent. You can smell it all the way down the STREET!

Pretty much anything with a bird on it. My roof. My coffee cup. The lawn beside a dark lake. Birds make me happy, period. ๐Ÿ™‚

My roof has been adopted by a flock of doves. These two sat like this, beak to beak, for an hour one afternoon.
A (very well chosen) gift from the bro.
I call this one “Night Heron in Profile”. ๐Ÿ™‚
