Every being in the world has his or her own cuisine preferences.
Some like bland dishes, while others prefer everything to be hot and spicy.
Some enjoy protein, while others always go for the carbs.
But sticking too closely to one type of dish produces an unbalanced palate. This can make it very difficult to distinguish the “real deal” from a fake version of the same.
So when there is doubt, it is often necessary to bring in a true gourmand with the kind of balanced and sensitive palate required to detect nuances only the true dish could contain.
This week, Love & Feathers is proud to present the world-famous and feathery actor Pearl Cutts in his latest one-avian play:
“Waffle Verification”
The audience arrives to find the theater doors already wide open.
There is a finely acrid odor in the air, almost like something has been….toasting.
As the curtains wiggle in preparation for parting, a few late arrivals noisily faint in the aisles. This causes a brief delay as the ushers, well, usher them back out again.
At last, the curtain parts, and those already seated notice a white cloth with a brown being resting on top of it.

Amidst the sound of much munching and crunching and chomping, the curtain draws shut.
Just then, the being known only as “Mom” appears, with arms crossed, to stand just in front of the center part…the better to prevent any over-eager attendees from attempting to slip backstage.
The. End.
Shannon & Pearl
