Being a super top secret yet famous “black ops” agent like .007 means your reputation frequently precedes you.

Other beings might not be able to point you out in a crowd (on account of how no one has ever seen the face of .007….or so they say), but they sure do know who you are.

This means that beings in peril may put your cover identity at risk trying to find you to ask for your help. When this occurs, it is critical to keep your cover intact and stay in character at all times.

Love & Feathers is proud to present the world-famous and feathery actor Pearl Cutts in his latest one-avian play:

“The Case of Potatoes in Peril”

The curtain is closed as ticket holders enter the theater. The lights are dim and fans find their seats quickly, anticipating the show is about to begin.

Just then, the curtain opens to reveal what appears to be five identical twins waiting restlessly on a white platform of some kind.

You all look – exactly alike. Twins, I assume. And your names are “Potato 1, Potato 2, Potato 3, Potato 4, and Potato 5?” I’ll just call you all “Potato” for short.
Well no, I am not .007, pint-sized super spy, although sometimes I am hired to play him in my work as a famous and feathery actor.
You say you are potatoes in peril and you need the help of .007 to get out alive? Well, no one knows where he is or even what he looks like.
Well, if it is really that serious, I can “act as if” I was .007 and we can work up a plot line that might save you.
I call this the “.007 Decoy Strategy.” Here is what we will do: one of you will stay behind and pretend you have gotten “caught.” This one will be the “decoy” so the others can escape. Then the decoy will use another, um, route, to escape.
Yes, “decoy,” I am sure this plan will work. Yes, you are going to a very secure location. Yes, of course you will be very safe….

Dimly in the background, four potatoes can be seen sneaking away off to stage left. Meanwhile, the star actor and the decoy continue to stay in character, even as – oddly – the decoy potato steadily gets smaller and smaller and smaller…..

The. End.
