Every day offers another chance to feel grateful, if we just have the openness to take it.

Gratitude can ease a whole multitude of frustrations, like you just took 365 deep breaths all at the same time.

And feelings of thankfulness are always welcome visitors (unlike certain others, most notably those angry feather-free beings in the white lab coats).

Take, for instance, when you feel like doing some nesting, and you find that your personal large featherless assistant has already provided the most posh and comfy nest which just suits your needs in every way!

Pearl, feeling grateful for his posh and comfy nest, which is just big enough for him, a ladybird and some cute white eggs.
Pearl, feeling grateful for his posh and comfy nest, which is just big enough for him, a fetching and feathery ladybird and some cute white eggs.

As part of our New Year’s intentions, Pearl and his mommy have decided to share a weekly “gratefuls” list here each Tuesday.

Please join us if you like! 🙂

Pearl is grateful for....
  • Being a manly manbird.
  • Ladybirds.
  • His posh and comfy nest.
  • His large featherless assistant.
Shannon is grateful for...
  • Gratitude.
  • Deep breathing.
  • The sweet singing (ok, loud shrieking) of her adorable avian.
  • Flock-wide good health.

Want to share yours and your feathers’ gratefuls here? Just post them in the Comments section below! 🙂

  1. I’m grateful that my parrots are healthy and happy. No one has lost a finger with mating season although there was a mean bite and a close call!
