Buffets are great places where everyone can get their unique dining preferences met.
As well, because some diners are slower to select their items, if another diner sees something they really really want, it is perfectly fine to rush ahead.
(Of course since no one writes down the buffet line rules, making up your own rules is also considered de rigueur among savvy buffet diners.)
For instance, let’s say that one diner has stalled out in front of that large silver thing with the reflective screen and all the keys on it. Still considering, she has expressed no significant interest in the selection of tasty crunchy orange things just ahead.
So maybe you just navigate around her and claim some (or all) before they are all gone.
