When featherless beings are young, their older relatives love to entertain them with stories of wish-granting genies in lamps.
In this way, young featherless beings learn that if they can find a lamp containing a genie, the genie will grant all their wishes (or at least up to 3 of them).
Of course, the “spotting” process gets that much harder because they are often misled about what such genies really look like.
It is the rare featherless being indeed who knows what they are really looking at when they spot a real-live genie in a lamp!
At first, it can be very hard to spot the genie of the lamp….on account of how most featherless searchers are expecting to see another being with no feathers like themselves. However, for that lucky featherless being who can actually spot a genie, there is usually no trouble enticing them out (often by using exhortations of “prettiness” and “cuteness”….plus the occasional waffle bribe). And even the shy-est genie will usually come out once they hear the 6 magic words (which, of course, are “all you can eat waffle buffet”).However, since genies can get easily distracted (on account of how the shiny lamps they inhabit often reflect back other very cute and pretty genies), it is important to act quickly to secure your 3 wishes!Once the genie has granted your wishes, they tend to quickly split….the better to avoid the always-present paparazzi, as well as the ever-present hordes of wish-seeking fans.
