Parrots can seem quite mystifying to the uninitiated.
Both spontaneous and set in their ways, independent and clingy, daily life “with parrot” can take some getting used to (here, luckily there is “cuteness” to smooth the ride a bit!).
One daily ritual whose importance simply cannot be over-stated is “parrot breakfast.”
Not only is the timing of the meal vital, but it is incredibly important to get the menu right. A less favorable selection of delicacies will guarantee your spot in the “large featherless waitress re-training seminar” to be held right then and there.
Once you do serve your feathers his breakfast, you will want to step (or leap) back right away. This is because your parrot will be very hungry and he will dig right in, and you don’t want any confusion about which part is the meal and which part is your fingers.

Been there with my crew. They have me so trained I even have my alarm set for 5:30 AM on weekends and holidays to make sure they get their breakfast. If it doesn’t appear at the correct time, I will hear about it.
