Here at Casa Feathers n Beak, reading is a flock-wide tradition.
While some of us like to focus on the words on the page, while others of us prefer to focus on the crispiness of those pages, it is safe to say no book entering this household lacks for attention.
So Pearl thought it would be a great idea to combine his literary knowledge with his mommy’s typing skills to offer a “book o’ the week” review – just in time for your weekend reading list!
This week, the book is “Box Turtle Pet Owner’s Guide” by Ben Team

Pearl’s review: Such a pity none of my flockmates have any feathers. I’m sure that’s why my mommy got this book – to hopefully help them learn to grow some. Poor dears. For a great read about feathers (plus a much crispier cover) I highly recommend this book!
His mommy’s review: I was so excited for this book to arrive – just seeing such a sweet familiar face staring at me from the cover felt so reassuring. Box turtles are fast disappearing from their native wild habitats (such as Texas where we live). This means that box turtles (like my rescued guy, Bruce) are often safer in captivity than they are in the wild and also more likely to survive. But they do need special care. I’m so glad there are experts who take time to share their knowledge about how to keep box turtles happy and healthy in captivity.
Happy reading!
With love (& feathers),
Shannon & Pearl
