The cravat is to neckties what Cro Magnon man is to, well, us.
And, may I just say, when it comes to neckties, the modern us sure got off easy.

But complexity is no match for enthusiasm, and through the centuries, far from relinquishing its hold on fashionable necks, the cravat’s influence has only, um, tightened.
Case in point – Croatia still celebrates Cravat Day annually on October 18th (I assume this is what happens when an entire country doesn’t try hard enough to find a hobby).
Certain notable modern-day celebrities also seem to find cravats alluring.

But only one species to date has been able to pull of the cravat look completely au naturel.
Introducing “The Cravat” – the latest must-have look from Wet Bird Couture.

p.s. Just in case you’re wondering what the “Dry Bird Couture” version of The Cravat looks like – equally stunning, of course.
I like how Pearl manages to have his cravat feathers gently going in a different direction than his crest feathers. Also very slimming. Now that’s real style.
Great points, Mary – thank goodness his fashion-free mama has such a style icon to guide her! 🙂
