What Gets Me Out of Bed in the Morning

This is the face that makes every morning a good morning.

I do NOT like to get up.

I don’t care if it is noon. Or 1pm. or 2.

I have four soft pillows, two comforters (one down) and a fluffy fleece blanket my bff gave me for my birthday this past year.

Why would anyone want to get up out of all that?

Pearl, like her Mommy, is also increasingly a late riser.

I read in a cockatiel handbook that birds need 10-12 hours of sleep per night to be adequately rested.

I could not have chosen a more perfect pet.

But when I do absolutely need to get up early, then there is just one motivating factor powerful enough to make me throw off the fleece, flip back the down, and walk away from the pillows.

A good morning chirp from the prettiest bird in the whole world.

  1. Well that saying about animal companions being like their human companions is true lol. My bird and I have an understanding, go through the routine every morning but on Saturdays I sleep in and he comes from wherever he’s decided to sleep (he goes through phases and chooses a different place to sleep every few months, that is since he decided he was too old to sleep with me anymore 🙁 ) and sleeps for a while longer in the palm of my hand. That’s after we’ve gotten up and refreshed first, and then go back to bed – the kitty joins us in these waking routines.

    1. Thank you! I agree! 🙂

  2. Oops I was going to say, before I started rambling, ‘and what a cute face that is to wake up to!’ Pearl is adorable.
