Day 99: Lasagna

Neuroscientists tell us that having interesting experiences helps us build new neural connections, which keeps us young.

When you are small and cute and feathery, you already know you can build new neural connections anytime you want.

Take family dinners for instance.

Let’s say a delicious portion of lasagna is being served.

Wow that was tasty!
I thoroughly enjoyed “our” portion of lasagna.

If you are feeling especially generous, you can also volunteer to build new neural connections for your large featherless assistant.

I'm not sure why you're so eager to shower me, Mom - other cockatiels have bright orange cheek patches and no one is trying to wash them off!
