Day 297: Roosting Championships

There is no doubt that nesting season gets ever more competitive as the summer heats up.

As well, rising temperatures can turn a ladybird’s mind to thoughts of roosting.

This makes just the perfect moment for a rousing round of “Roosting Championships.”

The acknowledged (and suavely handsome) roosting champion enters the ring.
He immediately begins to demonstrate mastery of his craft.
He can feel the ladybirds’ eyes upon him as he immediately begins to demonstrate the ancient art of “roosting.”

With supreme confidence and seemingly effortless elegance, he arranges the delicate straw of his chosen roost.

He pauses briefly (so as to let the ladybirds get another eyeful of the dashing and debonair roost master).
Soft roosting material, check. Clear advertising, check.
One final scan to make sure all is in place: Soft roosting material, check. Clear advertising, check.
The crowds are cheering as the roosting champion gives one final demonstration of the art of "roosting."
