Day 319: Circle Nesting

Master nesters know that, no matter how competitive nesting season may get, they always have more tricks up their sleeve to lure ladybirds.

Long experience (combined with suave solo good looks and a superior nesting site) wins the day every time.

For instance, not many manly manbirds have perfected the art of “circle nesting” – a skill any ladybird will find irresistible.

With circle nesting, the man of the nest can clean, groom, and tidy up a whole nest in the time it takes to make a 365 degree turn!

I know I am one of only a very few manly manbirds who has perfected the art of "circle nesting."

First, I will conduct an advanced test for nest depth.

All great circle nesters know the technique begins with a single big leap IN.

Turn and groom.
From there, you can begin to turn and groom.
Turn and groom.
And turn and groom.
As you keep turning, you keep grooming.

And tidying.

And plumping.
And plumping.
It is always best to finish with one final cross-check (ladybirds like detail in their man).

Finishing by holding a difficult pose can also help with advertising - after all, the ladybirds can only swarm you if they know you are there!

    1. Hi Samantha-I actually bought it (I think at Target?) a couple years ago as an Easter basket for my folks. It is all soft felt. Pearl took one look at it and claimed it immediately:)
