Regardless of whether you plan to nest outdoors or indoors, when a nesting site is compromised (or even suspected of being compromised) you need to have a backup plan.
This is called “covert nesting.”
With covert nesting, you take your flock and retreat to a second, super-secret and secure nesting site, which comes complete with round-the-clock security services.
Note to the manly manbird of the nest: Here, it can be a good idea to keep your secondary nesting site a secret even from your chosen ladybird, to reduce any risks of a security breach.
