Day 275: How to Beat the Heat

When you hail from a hot climate, you already know the best ways to beat the heat.

For instance, growing feathers always helps. This way, no matter how hot it gets, you always know you look very pretty.

It can also help to chew things. Chewing is not only fun for you, but it draws others’ attention to one of your (many) best assets – your cute curved beak.

Plus, chewing is very refreshing – provided you pick the right thing to chew.

There my Mom goes again, chewing on that odd red and green snack she likes.

For years I've tried to show her how to find the most refreshment.

Every time she goes straight for the red and green thing....
Every time she goes straight for the red and green thing again….
....totally ignoring this refreshing plastic bag.
….totally ignoring this oh-so-refreshing plastic bag.
It's just a mystery.
It’s just a mystery.
Which is why she'll just stay hot...and I'll just stay cool.
Lucky for her I never give up. No matter how many plastic bags I have to chew, I will keep demonstrating until she finally gets it.
